top 7 of 2007.

Everyone has their own list of highlights from the year 2007. I've seen/read about them from tv, podcasts, blogs, etc. So, I've decided, out of pure boredom, to compile my own list ... Entitled... My top 7 of 2007! And this doesn't go in any particular order....

1. FUTURE SEX/LOVE SHOW 07. Easily, justin timberlake had to be the HOTTEST gig of the year. I'm lucky that I got to be present at all 3 shows in sydney...worked 2, went to one.

2. PUT UP YOUR HANDS & SAY, I DON'T WANNA BE IN LOVE! Yes. I must say.. This year, I've had numerous encounters with the band Good Charlotte, and it all began with NOVA on january 17th. The GC experience included exclusive gigs, MTV award shows, two concerts and an amazing group of friends who share the same interest... A love of joel, benji, billy, paul and dean!

3. FIDDLER FRIDAYS! Oh yes, the place to party on a friday night... The mean fiddler! Ok, so it may be all the way out in rouse hill, but it is tha best club venue in sydney. My fave place to party!! Had some fun times there this year, best one was my 19th with amazing friends, new & old! Can't wait for ministry of sound on NYD!

4. HOUSE PARTIES FTW! All the remaining 18th's and the 19th's plus one 21st woot woot! One in exception, mandy's 19th .... Ah hem ... Yes, that night I don't wanna bring up again!! What a shocker!

5. OCTOBER 29, 2007 = <3. The return of simple plan had to be in my list of course. How could you not see it coming?! I had to race down to the internet cafe in eastwood at like 9am just to catch the live webcast and world premiere of 'when I'm gone'..totally worth it!! The song is amazing. All throughout november/december I voted my ass for it everynight on the hot30 and nova, even sending the hot30 crew angry emails hahaha!! That even got mentioned on aiir. But all that was forgotten when the hot30 team hooked me up with Pierre via telephone and I got to speak with him one friday morning. I love the hot30 right now. I guess what sucks is that the new album won't be out til 2008. We're doin it kids!

6. THIS AINT A SCENE, ITS A GODDAMN ARMS RACE! Hahahaha. My fall out boy/pete wentz obsession was a big part of '07. Two concerts!! March 8th and sept 26th. Pete wentz is a sexy mofo... Well, that's what I thought in the beginning of 2007. But noww..ahahahaha. He's alright. Not that hott anymore LOL. Still one of my top bands tho!!

7. NEW LIFE...SORTA! Well, a new daily routine to get used to. From high school to... What do you call insearch?! Its not quite uni, not really college...but wtf?! Anywayz...yess....the whole transition from high school to tertiary life and juggling that with work...I think I did it pretty well. Only thing I regret is... I wish I saved my pennies more. =[ but yes. I like my course, tho I can't wait to finish in may '08 - I need a study break. And I love my job at acer arena..its good fun! And the pay's alright.

Simple Plan: 12.2.2008!!

So, Simple Plan's new album cover just got released on SP.com today! All I'm gonna say is, that it looks goddamn AWESOME. =]
And, I've probably been over-analyzing this wayy too much. LOL! I can't stop looking at it!! But then again, if you were studying semiotics like me this semester, you'd probably do the same thing. Farrrrk. I need a holiday.



So, I quiite like the concept of it. It's like they've just overcome troubles in life, and altho the world seems to be a worser place, it's not. And Simple Plan will still come out better than ever, on their upcoming record. They're still the same guys as they were when they released their first record, they're just older, more mature, and have definitely grown as musicians!!

Urgh. Semiotics are killing my life. LOL!
So, there's my two cents worth.

omfg! i am so keen for all these concerts in 2008, not to mention that almost half of them are occurring where i work!! it's so exciting, i would rather go than get paid for it. one i really really want to check out is happening on february 22nd!

THE BACKSTREET BOYS! =D

easily, the best ever boy band of the 90's. i was always a bsb fan. i chose them over nsync back in the day. (but hey JT is still the sexy man!) hahaha. i love nick carter too!! but i rekon they would be amazing to see live. even if there are only FOUR left. oh well. pre sales started today. gay-uhh. i need more shifts.

but i cant work more shifts, on the account i have a heavy load of assignments to do!! you know, probably like everyone else, i'm really really OVER this semester. i just want it to end soo bad!! can't wait for the xmas/new year break ... i'm going on a week-long drinking binge. AMEN TO THAT!

Bad fashion && Good music!

Do you know what I am really really hating in fashion at the moment? Well, specifically, guys' fashion.
It's ...
THOSE HIDEOUS SCARVES. ie Matt Corby && other Idol dudes this year, and most recently, the boys in Simple Plan. I think that is officially the WORST guy fashion trend ever. It's not SO HOT RIGHT NOW. In my mind, boys wearing scarves is the equivalent to girls wearing fluro baggy tops that are bought from Supre. I am so over that fluro trend, and I didn't even get into it in the first place!!

But, there is one difference here. At least, when Pierre, Chuck & Sebastien wear scarves, it looks like they still have a neck, where as with Matt Corby, he has none!! MUHAHAHA!!!

OH, and in other news, MAROON FIVE are touring AUSTRALIA next year!! oh my god and guess who is their support act?! ONEREPUBLIC!!! Oh, I love their Timbaland-produced song Apologize. =D
But guess where the Sydney show is??
ACER ARENA!!
Aaah. So many good concerts at my work next year, Hilary Duff, BON JOVI, Maroon 5. OMG. Heaven. <3 Why buy a ticket when I can get paid for listening to them sing?!

Been a while ...

Wow. It's been a few since I updated you all. I know, I've been meaning to blog about little things that has caught my eye the past few weeks. So. Let's see what has been happening lately...

I watched the latest episodes of GOSSIP GIRL recently, and can I say .. it is the BEST EVER new teen drama on TV right now!!! The last scene of episode 7 ... well, pretty much the most awesome make-out scene in the whole of television history. Blair & Chuck are the hottest TV couple right now!! Check it out right here!



Australian Idol has ended for another year, and once again, the teen heartthrob/favourite did NOT win. =P SUCCCKKEDD IIINN MATT CORBY FANS!!! Here's the thing I found about Idol winners.
There is a pattern.
2003: Guy Sebastian MALE

Therefore, I predict ... A RIOT!!

to believe or not to believe? that is the question.

Something was circling the inter-web last night, and it all began with a curious MySpace bulletin:

'Last night on November 13th famous drummer Travis Barker was found dead in his garage. "He was found in his garage coming home from a dinner/award ceremony." said reporter Tom Burry.
Investigators are not sure of how Former +44 drummer yet died or they are not telling the public the full truth yet.
Travis's wifes exact words "everyone in the world has someone special who has died in there life. Maybe it hasn't happen yet but please pray for Travis and my family. I would appreciate it and whoever did this to Travis is a sick! man."

RIP Travis Barker? I think not.

If you want to know the REAL truth, this was in fact just a sick rumour made up by some sick minded person who obviously has no life whatsoever. Seriously, some people need to get out more. Why you would want to think someone dead is ... beyond me. No one deserves to die I reckon, but we all will someday. And you would think that if Travis really did die, it would have been pretty much all over the news. Besides, his wife/girlfriend, Shanna, posted up her own Myspace bulletin:

I'm not quite sure who would start a sick rumor, even if it was done as a joke. I am happily laying next to my husband who is alive and well and it brings me great pleasure to stop a rumor as horrific as that. It is indeed FALSE.

TRAVIS BARKER IS NOT DEAD!

And in case you were wondering who Travis is, he played drums in former band Blink 182 and currently plays in the band +44. Believe me, if any member of Blink 182 had passed, I think every fan would be playing the song 'I Miss You' over and over for the next few weeks/months.

wow. so dreams really do last for say, 5 minutes.
well, in my case, this one lasted for like, 15.
slept in this morning. woke up at 6.15am. hit snooze. wake up again at like 7am. snooze. 7.15. bathroom's occupied. next time i look at the time on my phone...

but i really didn't want to get out of bed. cause i was having this dream. it was really good too. well, in my opinion haha.
meeting chuck & pierre from simple plan, hanging with joel & good charlotte. =] woahh...and then joel says to me: "wanna come hang up the coast with us for the weekend?"
SAY WHAT?!!
and then he gets out his mobile phone and he's calling up my friend Jess. haha snap!!

and that's when i finally got up out of bed.
& probably explains why i came 30 mins late to class.

but seriously, do dreams have meanings personally? i've always wondered what do they really mean in reality??? like, this dream in particular.... probably means i've been obsessing way way too much about my fave bands, or not.

anyways, i don't remember MOST of my dreams. this one, i obviously did. and it happened at 7am. weiird!!

teenagers scare the living shit out of me ... NOT.

you seem to notice many things happening around you when you're on public transport, more notably a bus or train. well, more often than when you're just walking down the street. but anyway ...

i was standing on the bus to parramatta heading to work on tuesday arvo. it was like, just after 3pm, and you know, the time when school finishes, you get all the school kids filling up the bus. god i hate school kiddies when they pile up on the bus. i never really noticed before, but they're annoying and they smell. (well its high school kids that smell, the primary school kiddies are the annoying shits.)

anyway, back on-topic...
i was standing up obviously cuz the bus was packed of kiddies, listening to my mp3 player, and i noticed these 3 primary school kids sitting beside/below me lol. (they went to the primary school i went to, just so you know) there were 2 boys and 1 girl. i think the little girl was a sister of one of the boys. what i noticed they were doing was.. the girl would not stop hitting her brother!! and what did the brother's friend do??
like, nothing. to me it looked like he was egging her on.
at one point, the girl's arm hit her brother and knocked my earphones out of my ear! grrr!!

kids these days. i swear, i'm pretty sure i didn't hit my sisters like that, nor did my sisters hit me. well, obviously cause we're all girls.
and then, when the brother and sister got off the bus (finally), i tried to imagine what they would be like as teenagers. and what popped into my head was this...

the brother's friend has the hots for his sister (hint hint the whole egging her on thing).

funny if that's how it worked out hey...

anyway, i don't know what the point of that was. did you enjoy my rant?
i don't even know what the point of this blog is yet ...

but basically, what i'm trying to say is that kids are annoying to the MAX!

oh, and can i also mention,
HOW MANY BOGANS CAN YOU SPOT ON A BUS HEADING TO PARRAMATTA!?

Countdown to NYE 2007-2008!

Today is November 9th.
In one month and 22 days, it is ...
NEW YEARS EVE!
Wow, I can't believe that a whole year has gone by. Seriously. It feels like only yesterday I was on Schoolies in Kiama. One year since I finished high school. Whoa. Things have definitely changed in one year, for worse or for better. In a good way.
So, the question of the day is ...

WHAT'S YOUR NEW YEAR'S EVE PLANS?

I've been trying to figure what I'm gonna do, but like, pretty much all the decent parties are on final release tickets eg. Harbour Party @ Luna Park and Odyssey NYE @ Dreamworld. Those are the 2 that I'd be keen on attending =)
So I guess, if you really want a night to remember that's worth it, you've got to get in early!!!

Or have a cheap-ass night and spend it with a bunch of your coolest & closest mates!

The Perfect Way to Spend NYE:
- Alcohol
- Friends
- Music
- Awesome view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge Fireworks

"overproduced pop" ... there is no shame!

So, I went on absolutepunk.net earlier today to see the apparent Simple Plan tracklisting and I already see members of ap.net bagging the album out .. when, might I add, it's not even out!! Seriously, can people be so stupid these days?! So you probably liked Simple Plan before they "got big", but now, you hate them because they're in mainstream and what not.

But anyway, what really got me is why in hell would a site like absolutepunk.net even CARE about Simple Plan when CLEARLY ... hardly any member on that site could give a stuff about them. It's beyond me. Calling their new album "overproduced pop" even before it's released is an all-time low!

But, if you want to call it that, go ahead. I'm not really ashamed of liking so-called "overproduced pop" artists like Simple Plan or Good Charlotte. Heck, if that's what overproduced pop is, then what do you call bands like the Jonas Brothers, Mcfly, Busted, etc? All this genre business is pretty full of crap these days. Every artist/band likes to mix it up lately. Which is awesome I reckon! Being diverse = thumbs up. :)

WOW! is all I can say about last night's Justin Timberlake concert in Sydney at Acer Arena. =D
What an amazing show. The whole production, stage and lighting was pretty spectacular!
OMG, and he can dance! (well we all already knew that)
It was pretty much the BEST EVER concert I have been to!
The ONLY concert that can get better than a Simple Plan or Good Charlotte concert. =]

I also worked at the first J.T. concert on Wednesday night. Woww. hectic as. But sooo goood to get worked up for Thursday night. haha. Why do people bother lining up at bars at a show anyway? You're there to enjoy the performer/s, not spend $50 on like, alcohol.

Anyway, Simple Plan's new single "When I'm Gone" premiered on Tuesday morning. What an amazing song! New beats, thanks to Timbaland's right-hand man, Danja! The boys have really matured with their music. I'm looking forward to January 29, 2008! You can have a listen for yourself here!

Grindin' my gears ...

Do you know what really grinds my gears?
It's people who sit in the aisle seat of the bus/train who don't bother to get up in order to let you get out. Well, not everyone does it, mainly older Chinese ladies. Like, ohmygod. It's annoying. I'm not a size zero!
&& it's happened a few times to me this week. Argh.
It's not that hard to stand up for 30 seconds or so and let someone pass. Geeez.

Anyway.
This weekend has been fun.
Friday night - fiddler night. Whoa. Talk about high school reunion. Class of 2006 Aye!
Saw like, half the grade. Woww, so good to see everyone.
Btw, the Mean Fiddler is a MUST to go to one friday night. Downside - a bit far out.
Last night - my friend's 19th. That was good fun.
Yay for shots. Squashed Frogs && Bleeding Cowboys (my own creation!)
I lost count at how many I had.

This week, the band I have been currently crushing on is SIMPLE PLAN. Why, you ask? Well, maybe because they've been my number one favourite band since, 2004-2005.
And. these boys from Montreal, Canada are finally back! WOOHOO! 2008 will be their year to shine. That's my prediction - Simple Plan will be better than ever next year in music.
So. I'm telling you now to head on over to their official site & listen to the 25-second preview of new single "When I'm Gone".
It is absolutely FREAKIN' amazing. I'm not just saying that because I love them to death. Really. Best song ever.
